Now or Never

Back to The Track

At age 13 I decided that I liked running.  It didn't make sense.  I think runners are crazy.  At first I didn't mind the longer slower runs.  After awhile I craved the faster more intense distances. I fell in love with track and field middle distance races and haven't been the same since.

There are numerous reasons why I never reached my potential at a younger age. All of those reasons are not important anymore.  I will look at me right now and only worry about the one thing that matters. The direction I am heading.  I am 25 years old.  169lb.  I am going to run the 800m again.  It has been about 10 years since I stepped on the start line of a 800m race.  I remember everything about it.  I have a long way to go.

A quote by Steve Prefontaine, my favorite runner :

"I'm going to work so that it's a pure guts race at the end, and if it is, I am the only one who can win it. "
